A profitable B2B services business. The CEO had built the company's internal analytics platform himself. Eighteen months of work, entirely on an AI coding platform that was also hosting the live app in production.
We found four critical security issues in the first week. One was an admin endpoint any logged-in user could hit with no role check. Another accepted substrings of the real password as valid. The previous developer had been running Claude on a 24/7 loop for months, letting the tool make architectural decisions on its own. Two days into our engagement, he resigned. He had shipped 80 commits in his final 48 hours.
What we inherited: about 400,000 lines of code. Seven single-file modules over 5,000 lines each. 591 commits in 8 days during the handover, 34% of them labeled as fixes. No CI. Zero external code review across 140+ merged PRs.
